AstaReal is launching the dietary supplement Magnesium Total by Astaxin. Magnesium is an essential mineral that must be obtained through diet and plays a vital role in energy metabolism and normal physiological function.
“We have chosen to formulate Magnesium Total by Astaxin with three high-quality forms of magnesium: magnesium bisglycinate, magnesium taurate, and magnesium malate. The product has high bioavailability, meaning the body can more easily absorb and utilize the mineral,” says Annelie Gunnarsson, Brand Manager at AstaReal AB.
Magnesium is important, among other things, for the synthesis and utilization of ATP in the mitochondria (the cell’s powerhouses). It also plays a key role in regulating ion channels (including potassium and calcium), which are essential for nerve cell function, muscle contraction, and heart rhythm. Magnesium Total by Astaxin is developed in Sweden and comes in vegetable capsules.
“With Magnesium Total by Astaxin, we want to offer a complement to our existing Astaxin products that contain astaxanthin.”
Although magnesium is found in foods such as meat, fish, legumes, leafy greens, nuts, and whole grains, some groups find it more difficult to meet their daily requirements, including people who exercise frequently.
“With this launch, we are taking the next step in expanding our range of dietary supplements, all of which are based on quality and science,” says Annelie Gunnarsson.
The by Astaxin range complements AstaReal AB’s existing Astaxin products, which contain astaxanthin as the active ingredient. In addition to Magnesium Total, the product line also includes Vitamin D3 + K2. The products are available through pharmacy chains and health food stores.
